Lauren and Michael were married on the Isle of Harris at the beautiful church of St Clements in Rodel. This church is steeped in history and atmosphere and is the church most likely to make me emotional every time I step inside. I can see why they chose to travel down from their home in Stornoway especially to be married there. Lauren along with her excitable bridesmaids got ready at Shalom Cottage on the road to the Sound of Harris, the wonderful views capturing the mood for the hair and make up session.
Michael arrived at the church in an entourage of his cars – four of his pride and joy classic Fords. After the ceremony he drove his own car along with his new bride back to Stornoway for the celebrations. We stopped off at Horgabost Beach for some more photos and as often happens, the sun came out just long enough to get some wonderful pictures of the newlyweds on another stunning Hebridean beach. The day was rounded off by a meal at the Caladh Inn and fabulous music by “Rock Island Line” band.
I had to also show you some of the most amazing decorations that were all hand made by Lauren herself from wood from the croft. Hard to believe but she pretty much made the all the decorations and signs at the wedding.Lauren and Michael dance together on Horgabost Beach on the Isle of Harris, after their ceremony at Rodel Church.
