As many of you know, a part of my work involves landscape photography in the beautiful area that I live in. I am passionate about travel & landscape and often spend some time in the quieter winter months travelling and expanding my portfolio. It is pretty much a labour of love! But it also serves to keep me fresh, enthused and push the limits on my skills and makes me a better photographer generally. I love Scotland and its landscape. Much of my wedding work takes place within the landscape of Scotland and I often shoot in remote locations which I just adore. Living in Drumnadrochit, I have an ideal base with which to explore. However it was an image taken on my doorstep for which I received a special mention from Travel Photographer of the Year 2016.
The category was best single image in a portfolio and you can see the entire set below. The image which was singled out was Urquhart Castle in the mist. If you are interested in following my travels more closely just take a look at my travel blog here or follow me on instagram!
