The Isle of Skye is stunning, atmospheric, romantic and one of the most perfect places for couples to elope to in Scotland. With a dramatic view around every corner it is hardly surprising that elopements in Skye are becoming increasingly popular.
Scotland does not have any restrictions on where you can get married so you can make your commitment to each other in almost any location amidst stunning scenery. The Isle of Skye has so many wedding ceremony locations to choose from.
Many choose the Isle of Skye as their destination wedding location even though they live abroad and have never been there. Below I have have listed some wonderful locations to look at if you are considering getting married or eloping to the Isle of Skye.
Loch Coruisk is the most beautiful secluded location accessed by boat from Elgol in the south of Skye. Misty Isles boat trips can take you over on private charter and from there it is a short but rocky walk over to the Loch. Loch Coruisk is one of my favourite wedding locations on the Isle of Skye.
The fairy pools is also a popular location for an elopement with its’ clear pools of water beneath the dramatic Cuillin Hills. This is another wedding location, which requires a decent walk to get there, so always best to be prepared with suitable footwear!
The Fairy Glen near Uig is fabulous location for your ceremony.
The Quiraing is easy access to some of Skye’s most dramatic scenery. You are surrounded by mountains and views all around.
The Old Man of Storr. It doesn’t get more dramatic and iconic than the Old Man of Storr. It is a half hour walk uphill to this location and best suited to outdoor lovers and walkers!
Beautiful beaches to get married on the Isle of Skye include Talisker Bay and the Coral beach. Be mindful that these well known locations get busy if you are planning a summer wedding.
Sligachan Old bridge is another very easy access wedding location on the Isle of Skye
