Isle of Harris & Isle of Lewis Wedding Photography
Over the years, I have photographed many weddings on The Outer Hebrides. It’s wild, changeable landscapes and friendly people draw me back time and time again.
The Isle of Lewis
I’ve photographed at various wedding venues in Stornoway , Isle of Lewis and throughout the island such as:-
- The Cabardfeidh Hotel has been the venue for many Stornoway weddings and you can read more about this particular venue on my ” Venues” page.
- Derek & Lorraine hired a marquee and held their wedding reception at Gearrannan Blackhouse Village in Carloway. This lies on the Atlantic coast of the Isle of Lewis and makes a stunning backdrop for wedding photography.
- Willie & Rona took their wedding party up to the monument in Lews Castle grounds in Stornoway on one of the most glorious October days on the island.
- Ria & John were the first to use the newly refurbished Stornoway Town Hall for their wedding reception. A beautiful building in itself, it needs little help to look stunning for a wedding reception. The upstairs balcony with original theatre style seating mixed with modern glass frontage adds to the space available for drinks or group photographs.
The Isle of Harris
The Isle of Harris is home to the most wonderful stretches of white sandy beaches, usually pretty much deserted. As a result, a lot of my Isle of Harris weddings involve beaches. Some couples choose to marry on the beach itself which can be very beautiful. Luskentyre beach is a popular choice for this and it certainly makes a stunning backdrop.
I have photographed quite a number of weddings at St Clements, Rodel Church which is at the South of the island.
