Ruth and Derek were married recently at Daviot church with a wedding reception venue of Bogbain Farm which is just a few miles from Inverness. Whenever I walk into a wedding ceremony and see Rev Tommy MacNeil I know its going to be wonderfully funny, emotive and uplifting ceremony. And Ruth & Derek’s ceremony was all the above.
A short drive out to Loch Farr and its secluded boathouse after the service was definitely worth the trip for some photographs of the couple by themselves. Then it was back to Bogbain Farm for their wedding reception. In true Hebridean style everyone helped out to make the day a really special and unique one for the bride and groom. Decorations, cake, video, a photo booth and even the beautiful handmade bridesmaid dresses were all gifted and handmade by the couple and their family and friends.
Bogbain Farm is a relatively new Highland wedding venue and seems to becoming popular extremely fast- and I can see why! The barn in particular is probably the most atmospheric and unique evening dancing venues in the Highlands. Fairy lights, multi coloured uplighters and hay bales are all conducive to a great highland wedding dance.
All in all a wedding day in a style that suited the personalities of Ruth & Derek in every way. Here are just some of the highlights:
