Wedding photography at Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute
The first of many weddings this year saw me travel over to Isle of Bute, a beautiful small island which lies just half an hour from Glasgow. One minute you are driving through the depths of the city and a half hour boat journey transports you to a wonderfully rural small island that appears to have stepped back in time. There is very little around the island apart from farms and clusters of tiny villages. So it’s a surprise when you finally drive up to Mount Stuart House, a Victorian Gothic Mansion which stands amongst 300 acres of landscaped gardens.
Mary Rose came to me with a very specific vision for the style of her wedding: classic, beautiful and timeless. She loves the style of Jacqueline Kennedy’s wedding photographs which I found particularly interesting as these images are indeed classic and beautiful but they are also incredibly natural.
Mary Rose certainly pulled of the look she was going for with her sophisticated and classic look and her incredibly beautiful dress which she helped design. A really lovely bride with a smile that lights up the room.
She had put much thought and consideration into styling her day to fit her and Joseph’s personalities and as a result, everything came together perfectly on the day. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay on the Isle of Bute, as well as getting to know Mary Rose and Joseph and producing images that fitted with the style and manner of their wedding day.
