I am a wedding photographer working throughout the Highlands & Islands of Scotland. Throughout my wedding photography my primary aim is to capture real expression and to document the wedding day in a natural and discreet way. I go about this gently and quietly and blend in rather than direct. The results are natural looking images that capture the true spirit of your wedding day.
I am also passionate about my landscape photography. I have become widely recognised for my evocative images of wild, remote areas of Scotland. I have been awarded by National Geographic Traveller as well as recently being named Scottish Photographer of the Year 2017 ( Master Photographers Association )
My love of landscape photography allows me to combine the two genres and to photograph wedding couples within Scotlands fabulous scenery. Photographing outdoor weddings within the landscape allows me to capture the beauty of a wedding day as well as the beauty of the landscape. The two become intertwined on a day that means so much to you.
I travel in my van which allows me easy and flexible access to some of Scotlands most beautiful islands and more remote locations. It also keeps costs down for you and allows for much more flexibility on my part. Most frequently, I shoot in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis and throughout the Isle of Harris and the Isle of Skye. I’m always up for a bit of a hike, I don’t mind a bit of rain and I love to see unusual ideas such as having your dog at your wedding or hiking back to your venue after the ceremony.
Weddings and elopements on the Isle of Harris & the Isle of Skye in particular suits couples looking for a quiet wedding amidst some of Scotlands most dramatic and wild landscapes. The weather can be slightly unpredictable but the landscape is always stunning.
I am privileged enough to have witnessed and documented many happy wedding days and I look forward to continuing to do so for many couples.
